Social Media Marketing Everyone knows you should be using social media (like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and so on) to market your speaker's business! And like so many other things that "everyone" knows, it ain't necessarily true! Granted, Facebook and other social networking sites offer you an unprecedented opportunity to market your products and services, and to promote yourself, and to strengthen your brand, and... well, you get the idea. But none of these things have a prayer of working unless you have a good understanding of how social media works, and what your own marketing needs are, and what your target market is looking for, and... well, you get the idea again. So by all means, explore the infinite marketing possibilities that await you. But make sure you know what you're doing — and you know what you want — before you "invest" too much time and money into marketing with social media. Remember, pioneers discover exciting new lands... but pioneers can also collect a lot of arrows in their asterisks. Proceed with care!
